Anne L. Haro Sipes is an experienced Colorado attorney, representing residents of northern Colorado for more than 25 years in civil and family law matters including divorce, custody, and paternity actions. She is committed to the best interests of each child and finding a fair and equitable resolution in her client’s best interests, whether that is through mediation, a joint resolution of the parties or a contested court case.
Anne has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Brooklyn Law School in New York. In law school she was a Sparrer Fellow working at Brooklyn Legal Services representing tenants in housing court in New York. During law school she moved to Colorado and as a 3rd year law student in Colorado, assisted victims of domestic violence obtain protection orders and helped an incarcerated domestic violence victim receive a severely reduced sentence through the clemency process before then Governor Roy Romer.
Anne was a staff attorney at Colorado Legal Services for 25 years, representing over 3,000 low-income clients in family law cases, protection order cases, housing, Social Security disability and public benefits legal cases.
Anne is a long-term member and past president of Byron White Inns of Court for northern Colorado, an organization committed to civility, ethics and professionalism in the law.
Outside of the office, Anne does pro bono work helping immigrant youth who have been abused or abandoned obtain Colorado state custody and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status state court orders. Additionally, she is a mentor to a young woman in Afghanistan attempting to obtain an education against very difficult odds.
Anne enjoys music, family, friends, community, traveling and spending time with energetic grandchildren.
